This was a full week of concrete work - and we kept the momentum going from start to finish. Driveway out front, patio out back, a coated shop floor, and a curved walkway with a ramp. Each one a different challenge. Each one done right.
The driveway came out clean. Tight control joints, smooth finish, and well-defined edges throughout. That curved transition near the garage is the kind of detail that either gets done correctly or it shows - and we made sure it held up. The driveway was still curing when we strung the caution tape, which is exactly how fresh concrete should look at that stage.
Out back, the patio is simple and functional. No frills, just solid concrete work with clean lines and a proper finish that will hold up through the seasons. That's what a patio should be - a surface you stop thinking about because it never gives you a reason to.
The shop floor coating is a different animal entirely. That bright white surface with its low-sheen finish takes prep work to get right - the concrete underneath has to be clean, profiled, and ready to bond before any coating goes down. When it's done properly, you get a floor that's easy to clean, durable under heavy use, and looks sharp inside a working shop. The linear drains were neatly integrated into the coated surface, which is a small detail that matters a lot for drainage and long-term function.
Then there's the curved walkway with the ramp leading to the front entry. Curves in concrete require more formwork and more patience to pull off without visible inconsistencies. The radius on this one flows naturally up to the steps, and the broom finish provides grip without looking rough. It's the kind of work that adds real function and curb appeal at the same time.
